Inside Out Steelband in concert with Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired – June 26, 2020

Join Inside Out Steelband in celebrating our residency with the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, at 7:30pm (CDT) on Friday, June 26. This concert will feature performances by guest artists with close ties to TSBVI: Larkspur Percussion Duo (Lauren Molloy and Louis Raymond-Kolker), Heavy Stars (Lacey Lewis), and The Spinrockers (Mary Rose Bushland and Devin Gutierrez).

This concert will take place over Zoom, and will also be broadcast live to our YouTube channel. If you would like to sit in the virtual audience, please complete and submit the form below, and we will send you the Zoom link in advance of the performance. We will open the virtual waiting room at 7:00PM CDT and begin the performance at 7:30PM.

This event is free and open to anyone to enjoy! If you would like to support our ongoing Inside Out programming and outreach efforts, you may make a donation by purchasing a digital ticket at one of our preset price points, or choosing a donation amount that works for you.

Inside Out Steelband presents New Music for Steel Pan– May 15, 2020

Join CJ Menge, Louis Raymond-Kolker, and Blue Iron Percussion (Diana Loomer and Morgan Tao) online for an evening of new music! This special program will feature new solos and duets for steelpan and percussion, including works by Menge, Raymond-Kolker, Alexis C. Lamb, Thom Hasenpflug, Machel Montano, and others.

Inside Out Steelband in concert with TSBVI Students! March 28, 7PM

Inside Out Steelband in concert with students from the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Inside Out has been working with the TSBVI students throughout March, and they will showcase their work on this special performance! Free and open to the public.  
TSBVI parking is in front of the main building (45th Street entrance), and the auditorium is directly behind the main building on campus.

Inside Out will be at Oskar Blues Brewery tonight for Amplify Austin!

Amplify Austin kicks off today and runs through tomorrow afternoon! Join us at Oskar Blues Brewery tonight (6-10PM) for their Amplify event.
Inside Out is excited to once again be a part of Amplify Austin, Austin’s 24 hour campaign of charitable giving. Any funds donated to Inside Out through Amplify Austin will go directly towards funding full-tuition scholarships for local middle school and high school students who could not otherwise afford to attend our annual Steelband Summer Camp.

We will have an information table set up tonight at Oskar Blues Brewery, where we will also be set up to accept donations.

Inside Out Steelband featuring Dave Longfellow and Eddie Dickerson

Inside Out Steelband presents a special concert featuring Virginia based steel pan artist Dave Longfellow and Austin violin/fiddle player Eddie Dickerson, backed by the Inside Out Community Steelband and the KIPP Austin Collegiate Steelband.

In the final performance of our 2017-2018 Inside Outreach concert series, Inside Out is featuring to two top musicians on their respective instruments combined with a 30 piece steelband. The Inside Out Community Steelband and the KIPP Austin Collegiate Steelband will play a mix of calypso, soca, reggae, classical, and pop charts, as well as the original compositions of steel pan guest composer and soloist Dave Longfellow. Austin based violin/fiddle master Eddie Dickerson will bring high energy as a soloist with the steelband, as well as in his own solo set. Don’t miss this unique show in the beautiful setting of the One World Theatre!
