We hope to see you at this free and family friendly show on Wednesday, March 28.  The Inside Out Community Steelband in concert, joined by students from TSBVI.  These outstanding high schoolers have been working hard in our residency sessions the past couple of weeks to learn a few pan tunes! 7PM

Join us next Sunday, March 11, 3PM,  for “New Music for Steel Pan”, a unique chamber music style show on the Inside Out Steelband performance season. The concert will feature solos for lead pan, double seconds, and timpani, as well as duos for steel pan and voice, and steel pan and timpani. Works by CJ Menge, Phillip Glass, Patty Griffin and others. Very limited seating!

Inside Out is proud to be one of the many local nonprofits participating in Amplify Austin Day! Beginning tonight and running for 24 hours, any funds donated to Inside Out will go directly towards providing full tuition scholarships to middle school and high school students who otherwise would not be able to afford to attend our Inside Out Steelband Summer Camp. Extend your carnival celebration season at our annual Inside Out Carnival Concert. The James Bowie High School, McCallum High School, and Inside Out Community Steelbands will join forces to perform as a 50+ player mass steelband, playing calypso, soca, samba, and more.  Also featuring the Austin Samba School and McCallum Samba Knights, who will perform a dynamic Brazilian drumming and dance set.

Free and family friendly! The event will be in the McCallum HS Cafeteria, in the main building.

We are wrapping up our summer community steel band classes with a FREE performance and mini-class for those of you who may be interested in learning to play steel pan with us this fall. Join us Tuesday night, August 29, 7PM for the 30 minute show and short intro lesson!

We are thrilled that the City of Austin has recognized our ongoing work in the community by declaring Thursday, August 3, 2017 as Inside Out Steelband Day! We will be performing one piece at City Hall during the Austin City Council meeting (5:30PM), and then will receive our proclamation from Mayor Steve Adler.
