Inside Out Sprouts!

We are excited to continue with Season 5 of our interactive family time class, “Inside Out Sprouts!” These 30-minute classes are geared towards young children and their parents/guardians – up to age 6. Join our hosts, Audrey Sprout and Lauren Sprout, for singing, steel panning, dancing and more!

Season 5 – Starting May 1!

Our fifth season will consist of four interactive episodes, live on Zoom at 10:00 AM CST on the following Saturday mornings:

You are welcome to join us for these live shows for free! Please complete the RSVP registration form below to join us on Saturday mornings.

We also encourage families to subscribe to the fifth season, which includes access to the live Saturday episodes, plus the following:

Trinidad All Stars: Classical Jewels XII

Congratulations to the Massey Trinidad All Stars on their production “Classical Jewels XII” earlier this month at the Lord Kitchener Auditorium at the National Academy of Performing Arts in Port of Spain, Trinidad. The Trinidad All Stars Steel Orchestra performed arrangements of music from several films, including Star Wars, the Harry Potter series, and the Sound of Music, alongside musicians from the University of Trinidad and Tobago, and Trinidad and Tobago’s National Philharmonic Orchestra.

Dr. Mia Gormandy-Benjamin served as the musical director, conducting and providing arrangements for the group. Dr. Gormandy-Benjamin will be our featured guest artist at the 23rd Annual Inside Out Steelband Festival in April. We look forward to working with her soon!

Jonathan Scales Fourchestra: Mindstate Music

Congratulations to Jonathan Scales Fourchestra on the release of their album Mindstate Music! Jonathan Scales Fourchestra performed with Inside Out Community Steelband and the McCallum High School Knights of Steel in 2015. (See video of the performance on our YouTube channel.)

Mindstate Music is a concerto for the Fourchestra with full steelband accompaniment. Several Inside Out members and alumni performed on this album, including Audrey Holden, Diana Loomer, Lauren Molloy, and Louis Raymond-Kolker (tenor pan).

Tracy Thornton: Pan Rocks RUSH!

Congratulations to Tracy Thornton on the release of Pan Rocks RUSH! The Documentary, featuring the Pan Rocks Steel Orchestra, led by Tracy Thornton and with Mike Portnoy, Pete Thorn, Philip Bynoe, Walter Ino, and produced by Matt Starr.

Inside Out Steelband and Bow High School Steelband performed with Tracy in 2015, and Bowie played on the Pan Rocks show at PASIC in 2015 in San Antonio. (See a highlight video of the performance on YouTube.)

Pan Rocks RUSH! features covers of three classic Rush songs, “Spirit of Radio”, “Tom Sawyer”, and “YYZ”. Inside Out’s Executive Director, CJ Menge, and community member and valued instructor, Carolyn Trowbridge, both played on the album.
