Daron Roberts is currently based in Norfolk, Virginia where he serves as the Rhythm Project Associate Director.

Inside Out Steelband Carnival Concert, February 20, 2020

Celebrate Carnival 2020 with Inside Out Steelband! The Inside Out Community Steelband, Bowie High School Steelband, McCallum High School Knights of Steel will perform as a mass steelband, and the McCallum High School Samba Knights and Austin Samba School will present a dynamic Brazilian drumming and dance set.

This performance will be in the McCallum Arts Center Theater at 7pm. It is free and family friendly!

Inside Out Steelband with students from the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, March 25, 2020

Please join Inside Out Steelband as they perform with students from the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired on Wednesday, March 25, 2020. This performance is the culmination of Inside Out’s residency at TSBVI.

This concert will be in the TSBVI Auditorium at 7pm. It is free and family friendly!

23rd Annual Inside Out Steelband Festival featuring Dr. Mia Gormandy-Benjamin, April 21, 2020

Please join us for the 23^rd Annual Inside Out Steelband Festival, welcoming back guest artist Dr. Mia Gormandy-Benjamin. Dr. Gormandy-Benjamin will perform with the Bowie High School Steelband and the McCallum High School Knights of Steel.

Dr. Gormandy-Benjamin is an Assistant Professor of Music at the University of Trinidad and Tobago. She attained a PhD in musicology from the Florida State University where her dissertation explored the steelband communities in Japan.

General admission tickets are $20 and are available on Eventbrite and at the door.

Inside Out Steelband presents New Music for Steel Pan, May 15, 2020

Join CJ Menge, Louis Raymond-Kolker, and Carolyn Trowbridge for an evening of new music for steel pan. They will present compositions for unaccompanied steel pan, steel pan with electronics, and chamber pieces.

Very limited seating is available in the intimate space at the Armstrong Music School. Get your tickets before they are gone!
